No day at Cedar Point is complete without riding Giant Wheel. Built in 1972 by Schwartzkopf, this ferris wheel is one of the largest in the United States! When it was originally built, it was located right behind the front Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad station. It was later relocated near the beach in 2000 to make room for Millennium Force.
The 36-cabin wheel brings guests up 136 feet in the air and offers excellent views of the park, beach, and Lake Erie. In 2012, the ride was outfitted with LED lighting. As a fun fact, there are more lights on Giant Wheel than on any other Cedar Point ride! This creates a spectacular nighttime light show!
